Brakkie Monster Radio -
The Future
2025
Vinyl Artwork, Posters + Socials
Brakkie Monster Radio has been traveling through playgrounds and community centers in Amsterdam Noord since 2017, where children create electronic music under the guidance of artists.
In 2024 and 2025, Brakkie Monster Radio is part of the celebrations for Amsterdam’s 750th anniversary. The Future is the result of twelve collaborative sessions in which children and older residents created music around the theme the future of Amsterdam. In playgrounds (in collaboration with Stichting SPIN) and centers like Het Baken and De Modestraat, they talked about topics such as mobility, communication, well-being, and community. These conversations formed the basis for electronic compositions featuring poetic lyrics, vocals, and immersive soundscapes.
The result is a unique vinyl LP, printed in two Pantone colors including bright neon green, with a bold and playful design featuring drawings made by children. Accompanied by a matching poster and social media visuals created for the release. I created two versions of the poster one with children's drawings, and one left open for kids to draw on themselves during the release party.
